5 TIPS TO HACK INTO OUR BUSY SCHEDULES TO FIND TIME FOR OURSELVES AND FAMILY
- STOP AND LISTEN; Pretend!! take yourself to a clean canvas, fresh place, a no clutter area. If its an actual room, have plenty of light and fresh air. Choose 2 very special “somethings” to have in there with you. My area is a sunroom, with lots of windows, some herbs I grow, my cat if she chooses to follow me there. Sit and listen to what your thoughts are, jot them in a journal and let it go. Sit and listen to your heart, jot that in a journal. If sunny turn your face to the light and absorb the light and warmth, make a note of how this made you feel. This list goes on, I may brush my cat or hug her, sing, pray. Make your own space.
- SHORTEN YOUR TO DO LIST: Know the difference from busy perfection To DO’s and THAT WHICH NEEDS TO BE DONE THAT DAY! I have to get important stuff out of the way first, STOP, and check in with what the first tip told me. Then proceed with the next 2-3 things. Try to Keep from getting “Overwhelmed”.
- CONNECTION: For me this has been huge. I love to help others, but over giving took me to “people pleasing” and loosing site of my boundaries and values for myself. Again, STOP and LISTEN to your concerns. Do you feel drained and tired from that connection or relationship? If YES, observe yourself and the other person or persons. BALANCE is very important in every relationship.
- SAYING NO!! Give yourself permission to say No! or “I cant answer right now” I have to think about it, or suggesting another plan.
- REST!!!! This is the BODY and MIND healing time. Set reasonable bedtime hours, Take inventory of how much SLEEP you need for your daily work and activities. Set the environment. Mine is clean and fresh cotton sheets, fresh air, warm bath and soft light to read till i cant keep them open. TRY YOUR STYLE. Little things DO make a difference.
