ITS OK TO STOP TAKE A BREATH AND REDIRECT
Not sure how to do that ??
Be mindful and be deliberate with yourself:
We have alot on our minds, with pandemic concerns, shut downs in businessess and schools, interference with family and friends get togethers and the list of what seemed normal is rearranged. On the brighter side who says this cant be an opportunity for a new normal, maybe slower in pace, more reasons love and support in ways you never thought of. Explore the new possibilities for what might be a new normal.
Here are three thoughts suggesting you need to:
- Choose an activity you usually multitask and do only that. Like eating your lunch because your eating lunch to stop and enjoy the food and company.
- Block a half-hour of unplanned time in your planner. Wow doesn’t that feel weird. Just sitting and take in a beautiful garden for example.
- Say no, and give yourself time to do unplanned events.
Three simple ways to get started
- An all time favorite is folding laundry, its warm, clean and most importantly it can be a check off your checklist as done. Great challange for overactive minds, “tell yourself, its all you have to do today” try to believe it and look at laundry. This can be a grounding technique. Just do some of it not the whole closet full.
- Dont plan to take a walk for example. Get up walk around, and see where that takes you. Maybe you will help someone next door, sit in the sun etc. Nothing makes you feel present like being a bit spontaneous.
- Saying No may give you a chance for your own self time. Small changes throughout the day can slow down your pace
- without killing productivity.
